đź§Â Who We Are
qtrd.site was born from a simple realization: we live on an extraordinary planet, yet most of us know so little about it. In an age of information overload, genuine understanding has become rare. We’re flooded with headlines but starved of context. We see photographs but not the stories behind them.
We created qtrd.site to change that.
We are a team of writers, photographers, researchers, and dreamers dedicated to exploring and documenting the world in all its complexity. Not just the tourist destinations, but the hidden corners. Not just the beauty, but the challenges. Not just the facts, but the feelings they evoke.
🌟 Our Mission
To foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for our shared home through insightful storytelling, stunning visuals, and accurate information.
We believe that knowledge leads to caring, and caring leads to action. By revealing the wonders of our world—and the threats they face—we hope to inspire a global community of people who are curious, compassionate, and committed to protecting this planet we all share.
👥 Meet the Team
Elena Vasquez — Founder & Editor-in-Chief
Based in: Barcelona, Spain
Elena spent 15 years as a photojournalist covering conflict zones and environmental crises before founding qtrd.site. “I’ve seen what we’re losing,” she says, “but I’ve also seen what happens when people come together to protect something. This site is my attempt to document both.”
Favorite place on Earth:Â The Atlas Mountains, Morocco
Dr. James Okonkwo — Science Editor
Based in: Nairobi, Kenya
With a PhD in Marine Biology and 20 years studying coral reefs across the Indian Ocean, James brings scientific rigor to our coverage. “The data can be depressing,” he admits. “But the resilience of nature never ceases to amaze me.”
Favorite place on Earth:Â Watamu Marine National Park, Kenya
Mei Lin — Culture & Traditions Editor
Based in: Kyoto, Japan
Mei has documented vanishing traditions across Asia—from shadow puppetry in Indonesia to silk weaving in Cambodia. “Culture isn’t static,” she explains. “It evolves. But when it disappears entirely, we all lose something.”
Favorite place on Earth:Â Luang Prabang, Laos
Carlos Mendez — Photography Director
Based in: MedellĂn, Colombia
Carlos’s photography has appeared in National Geographic, BBC Travel, and CondĂ© Nast Traveler. “I’m not just taking pictures,” he says. “I’m trying to capture the feeling of being somewhere for the first time—and the last.”
Favorite place on Earth:Â The Amazon rainforest, Colombia
Priya Sharma — Community Manager
Based in: Mumbai, India
Priya connects our readers with each other and with the stories we tell. “The best part of this job is hearing from people whose lives have been touched by our content—whether they visited a place we covered or started a conservation project because of something they read.”
Favorite place on Earth:Â The ghats of Varanasi, India

🤝 Our Values
Accuracy Above All
We fact-check everything. If we don’t know something, we say so. If we make a mistake, we correct it publicly.
Respect for Cultures
We tell stories about communities, not just in them. When possible, local voices lead the narrative.
Environmental Responsibility
We carbon-offset all travel. We prioritize slow travel and local partnerships. We never publish locations of endangered species or vulnerable sites.
Diversity of Perspectives
Our team spans 6 continents, 12 nationalities, and countless life experiences. We actively seek voices that are underrepresented in mainstream media.
